All That Jazz Dance Studio Summer Registration Is Open

Babysitter/Parents’ Helper

I am a Bowen alum and current Newton South Junior available as a babysitter/parents’ helper many afternoons afterschool, evenings and weekends. I will also be available this summer.  I am CPR-certified and enjoy art projects, reading to and with younger children and can help with homework.  I have provided childcare at my synagogue and to individual families, references available upon request. Watertown Children’s Theater presents Charlotte’s Web

The classic story of Charlotte’s Web paints a picture of childhood on the farm, in which the power of friendship can conquer anything. WCT’s Play Factory brings this heartwarming tale to life, performed by an ensemble cast of 2nd-4th graders including Amelia Ventouris of Newton, directed by Elizabeth Gutterman.  Performances are May 18- 20 in the Black Box Theater at the Arsenal Center for the Arts.  Seating is limited. Newton Family Singers

The Newton Family Singers present… If I Had a Song – Celebrating Pete Seeger and Friends, on Sunday, May 6th!

Come enjoy the music of folk icon and legend Pete Seeger and his musical friends and contemporaries, including The Weavers, Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie….with a special performance by members of the extended Seeger Family.  You’ll find yourself hand-clapping and tune-humming at this fun-for-the-whole-family musical extravaganza celebrating Pete Seeger’s contribution to American folk music. Sunday, May 6, 4pm at the Memorial-Spaulding Elementary School Auditorium, 250 Brookline Street, Newton.

With this concert, the Newton Family Singers welcome award-winning composer, director and musician Chris Eastburn as  guest Musical Director. Chris brings over 10 years of experience directing the Family Folk Chorale of Arlington, and an unmatched ability to create powerful, emotional and melodic choral arrangements. This concert will feature the debut performance of an original tribute to Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie.

Dancers will learn the basic elements of Jazz Dance and Hip Hop set to today’s popular music. Along with dance technique instruction, they will be given the opportunity to  creatively express themselves through open ended movement.  The class will include stretching exercises, progressions across the floor and sequences of age appropriate choreography that will build week to week.  This fun, lively 45 minute class is offered to students who danced with us last season as well as new students.
