Dear First Grade Parents:
Now that your children are in First Grade they are part of an exciting program at Bowen called Project Explore. Periodically, on Thursdays from 1 – 2:45 pm, the children work with the specialists in PE, Music, Art and Library to do interesting programs. In the fall and spring, the children rotate in classrooms through the Bowen Garden, which is cared for by volunteers.
This Thursday, your children will work in the Garden with Lead Gardener, Jenni Acosta (jenni.acosta@gmail.com) for 25 minute sessions!
We need your help!!! The program only works when we have other parent volunteers! A common question is: Do I have to know anything about gardening and the simple answer is NO!!! We just need your enthusiasm to guide the children through simple activities!
We do need you to come to the school out by the playground and gardening beds by 1 pm and be prepared to stay until just before pick up at 3 pm.
